Plan this festival around one performance first. Haenggung Square, Yongyeon Pond and Yeonmudae are separate places, and their programmes do not share one timetable or ticket. Choose Yajo for its military-themed spectacle or Seonyumong by the water, then add daytime sightseeing and dinner. All times below are Korea Standard Time.
Choose the day before building an itinerary
The main festival runs October 4–11, 2026. On October 4, the preliminary Suwon Hwaseong Parade is listed for 15:30–17:30 along Suwon Sports Complex → Janganmun → Haenggung Square. These are not the royal procession’s exact passing times at each point. For October 5–6, consider an evening built around Seonyumong. If Yajo is your priority, start with October 7–10, the dates shown in the general booking guide.

Yajo’s performance description and general booking period differ. On September 27, its Naver calendar disabled October 11 and marked October 9–10 sold out. That does not establish that every other seller or later cancellation seat is unavailable; check October 7–8 availability again before paying too. Seonyumong’s KRW 5,000 applies to some reserved seats, not every surrounding viewing area. The KRW 2,000 in the Haenggung Yahwa notice is palace admission, not a combined ticket for the three shows.

Booking Yajo: why arriving at 19:50 is too late
The official reservation hub links to Naver tickets for Yajo and Seonyumong, a foreign-visitor day tour and a Seoul shuttle product. Tours and shuttles have different inclusions and prices from a standalone show ticket. Check the included performance, return journey, meeting point and return time for the actual product. If Korean phone verification or payment prevents a Naver booking, compare the foreign-visitor route linked by the organiser. Acceptance of every foreign card is not guaranteed.
Yajo’s Naver product says admission opens one hour before the show and a booking is cancelled if its wristband has not been collected by 19:50. Exchange your voucher at the Yeonmudae ticket booth; allow time for the queue rather than treating 19:50 as an arrival target. Seating follows the on-site entry order, and walk-up sales cannot secure entry once sold out. These are the rules for this Yajo product, not automatically the conditions for Seonyumong or every reseller.

From Seoul to the right venue
For a daytime start at Hwaseong Haenggung, the official transport guide lists bus 1007 from Jamsil to Hwaseong Haenggung/Yeomingak, or bus 3000 from Gangnam to Paldalmun. Suwon Station serves Line 1 and the Suin–Bundang Line; the guide lists buses 60 or 7-2 across from Exit 7 to Hwaseong Haenggung. Check current stops and event-day diversions in a live map. For Yajo, set your destination to the Yeonmudae ticket booth, 8 Changnyong-daero 103beon-gil. It is not Haenggung Square; the booking page lists no parking.

Build an evening around one performance
MEETORY suggests daytime sightseeing around Haenggung Square, an early dinner and then one booked evening venue. Seonyumong finishes at 20:00, exactly when Yajo starts elsewhere, so do not plan to watch both in full back to back. For Yajo, leave room for travel and the ticket queue before the 19:50 wristband deadline, then check your accommodation-bound transport after the 21:00 finish. This is an editorial plan, not an official tour schedule or a guaranteed journey time.
Suwon Hwaseong Media Art around Hwaseomun and Janganmun is a separate event, scheduled September 19–October 6. It does not run throughout the Cultural Festival. If that is your target, use the separate guide for its seats, sessions and meeting points.

Children, rain and access needs
The Yajo Naver product allows children under 24 months free with proof of age and requires children to have an accompanying guardian. Dress for an outdoor performance. Its terms say rain does not qualify for a refund if the show proceeds; check organiser-cancellation terms and your own seller’s conditions separately. Ask the selected venue in advance about wheelchair or pushchair routes and companion seating. Do not assume the whole fortress wall walk is step-free.
