Naksan Park is a useful choice if you want to connect the city-wall atmosphere of KPop Demon Hunters with an actual Seoul walk. Think of an animated background, not a live-action film set. For a first visit, go up from Hyehwa before dark, see the view and a short stretch of wall, then return on the same side.

An animation connection, not a live-action location

Korea Tourism Organization's August 2025 Japanese feature identifies Naksan's wall path as a background in the animation. It does not establish a live-action shoot or a concert venue. We do not identify an exact stone or camera position as a verified match to a scene.

Save 낙산공원 in your map app. Naksan is different from Namsan, where N Seoul Tower stands. A walk to appreciate the wall and the city's changing elevation is less dependent on perfect skies than recreating one particular screenshot.

Free and always open does not mean every facility runs all night

Seoul's night-view listing describes the park and wall walk as free and continuously open. This is not a paid observatory visit. Indoor exhibits, toilet servicing, neighboring businesses and every light do not necessarily operate around the clock. We have not verified an exact lights-off time and do not promise late-night illumination.

Separately organized tours or programs have their own booking conditions. Distinguish those from an ordinary independent walk. Follow local closures and weather restrictions even when a general listing says the park is always open.

A Hyehwa return walk or the full wall section?

The standard approach is Hyehwa Station, Line 4, Exit 2. Official estimates vary by approach, at about 10 or 20 minutes; the city-wall guide adds five minutes from the entrance to the top. These are not round-trip sightseeing times including breaks and photographs. Allow more if you walk slowly or are finding the route for the first time. Listings use both 낙산길 41 for the park and 낙산성곽서길 173 for a wall-side location; check the place name and approach rather than relying only on an address number.

Save the official Seoul city-wall route map for entrances and walking routes. It is a location reference, not a live report on works or opening hours. Do not assume the shortest route is step-free. Wheelchair and stroller users should confirm a suitable approach with the park.

ChoiceEditorial planBest fit
Short first visitHyehwa → views and part of the wall → Hyehwa; allow 60–90 minutesA night view or a fixed dinner afterward
Wall-focused walkHyehwamun → Naksan → Heunginjimun; leave about 2 hoursA day when slopes, steps and finishing elsewhere suit you

These are suggested visit lengths, not measured times. Seoul now lists the full Naksan section from Hyehwamun via Heunginjimun to Gwanghuimun as 3.2 km. Our suggestion finishes earlier at Heunginjimun; it is not the full official section. A through-walk can change your return station. Shorten the outing if tired and avoid inventing shortcuts through unfamiliar residential lanes after dark.

From daylight to the evening view

  1. Check the date's sunset and weather, then aim to reach the park area about 40–60 minutes before sunset. This is planning advice, not a fixed sunset time.
  2. Check your descent and signposts while it is light, so you do not need to choose an unfamiliar route in darkness.
  3. Enjoy a section of wall and the view, then descend toward Hyehwa and Daehangno for dinner. This does not guarantee restaurant opening or seats.

Sky colors and visibility vary. In rain, fog or poor air conditions, postpone a view-focused outing and choose an indoor plan or meal instead. Bring a wind-resistant layer, grippy shoes and a charged phone. On arrival day, drop luggage at your accommodation first and shorten the walk if immigration delays or fatigue make the plan impractical.

Photographs, budget and useful Korean

Photograph from the path; do not climb the wall or wedge equipment into the stonework. Keep tripods and groups out of the walking line. Avoid lingering at residents' doors, windows and parking areas, and keep voices and music low at night.

General walking admission costs nothing, but transport and food are separate. Budget for the round trip from your accommodation, dinner and any café stop. Rather than also rushing to N Seoul Tower in the same evening, choose the view that matters most to you.

Check before you pay

Questions for planning this visit, not allegations against any business.

  • Distinguish walking or free areas from paid exhibitions, activities and food. If told a fee is mandatory, ask the venue information desk which service it covers before paying.
  • Before renting, confirm return time, extension increments, damage/loss charges and deposit return terms. Obtain a total for the accessories, styling or photos you want and check the item’s condition together at pickup.

Quick answers

Is admission free, and must I book?

Seoul lists ordinary park and wall access as free and continuously open. Separately organized guided programs have their own booking rules.

Is this where N Seoul Tower is?

No. Naksan is on the Hyehwa and Daehangno side of Seoul; N Seoul Tower is on Namsan. Search for 낙산공원.

When do the lights turn off?

We have not verified an exact lights-off time. Always-open access does not mean every light stays on all night; arrive before sunset.

Is it a live-action KPop Demon Hunters location?

KTO introduces the wall path as an animation background, not a live-action actors’ set.
