Choose one shopping target and one meal before you visit The Hyundai Seoul. Start with the fifth-floor space if architecture or Queen of Tears is your priority; build around a specific shop if you came to browse brands. Add Yeouido Hangang Park only when the weather and your remaining time make it worthwhile.

This is the Yeouido branch, not Hyundai Department Store's Trade Center branch near COEX. Save the Korean search name 더현대 서울 and address 서울 영등포구 여의대로 108. Our time allocations below are editorial planning suggestions, not measured walks or guaranteed queue times.

Choose 90 minutes indoors or a half-day with the river

TimeSuggested allocationLeave out
90 minutes15 min moving around + 25 min on 5F + 25 min at your target shop + 25 min for a drinkLong queues, a full meal and the riverside
About 4 hoursB1 meal 60 min → 5F 30 min → shopping 60 min → transfer allowance 30 min → river 45 minTrying to visit every floor; skip the park in rain

These plans assume manageable queues. If a cafe has a long wait, drop it or shorten shopping rather than rush a booked meal or train. Check the restaurant's queue first, including whether you can leave while waiting and how you will be called.

Underground access for a wet day

From near Exit 3 of Yeouido Station, Lines 5 and 9, the operator describes an approximately 500 m underground route with moving walkways to the B2 entrance. Follow the underground signs instead of automatically going outside. Exit 4 offers an approximately 400 m above-ground approach to the main entrance. Yeouinaru Station, Line 5, Exit 1 is another outdoor approach toward the rear entrance. Official directions

The underground connection is useful for rain, but it still involves walking. With a stroller or wheelchair, follow the station's lift signs; the shortest numbered exit is not a guarantee of a step-free route. Save your hotel's Korean name and return route before leaving it.

Four floors worth understanding

FloorPurposeHow to use it
5FSounds ForestAnchor a visit focused on the space; cafe seating is separate
B2Creative GroundChoose specific shops before browsing

Use the official floor guide for shop positions inside the building. The map below is for the building's location, not indoor navigation. Checking the floor first prevents repeated trips between a cafe, a restaurant and a shop.

Food choices with actual listed prices

These are selected menu prices shown by the operator in won. They are not a tasting ranking, a set-menu promise or a guarantee of portion size. Confirm the ordering unit and any minimum order before sitting down.

PlaceListed exampleBest used for
Na-ui Gaya (나의 가야), 6FBulgogi hotpot ₩26,000A slower meal; ask about the minimum number of portions
Hao Sum (호우섬), B1Ragu jjajang knife-cut noodles ₩11,900A noodle-focused meal
Hao Sum (호우섬), B1Shrimp and pork meatball pot rice ₩18,900A rice-based choice
Camel Coffee (카멜 커피), B1Americano ₩5,500; signature Camel Coffee ₩6,500A B1 coffee stop, subject to seating and queues

Noodles plus an Americano total ₩17,400; the pot rice plus signature coffee total ₩25,400. These examples assume one of each item at the listed prices and exclude transport, shopping and extras. Official menus and restaurant hours

Solo diners should confirm one-person seating and minimum orders. Ask about ingredients you avoid rather than relying on the dish name. Restaurant contacts: Na-ui Gaya 02-3277-0650, Hao Sum 02-3277-0763, Camel Coffee 02-3277-0758.

Store hours are not the same as last orders

Standard store hours are 10:30–20:00 Monday–Thursday and 10:30–20:30 Friday–Sunday. The general dining-floor listing is 10:30–22:00, but Na-ui Gaya starts at 11:00 and lists last orders at 21:00. Hao Sum lists last orders at 19:30 on weekdays and 20:00 on weekends. Check the official opening information and the specific restaurant for your date, including holidays and closure days.

Do not plan an order at the building's closing time. For a late dinner, ask about the final reception time and the exit you should use afterward. This guide does not establish that the store opens every day in October.

Suitcases and lockers: two different services

Suitcase storage is at the 1F Tourist Desk; general lockers are on B1, B3 and B4. The operator directs valuables and shopping purchases to lockers. Ask the desk about your actual case before looking for a locker large enough to fit it. Published information does not establish the fee, size limits, availability or final collection time; free storage and guaranteed space are not promised here.

The fifth floor has a baby lounge, B2 has a WOWPASS kiosk and the sixth floor has a Tax Refund service desk. A refund desk's presence does not mean every purchase qualifies: check eligibility and required documents with the shop before buying. Services · Desk contacts

No Korean phone number? Check before joining a queue

A restaurant booking, a walk-in queue and an exhibition or pop-up reservation are separate processes. We have not tested acceptance of a particular overseas phone number or card. Ask staff for an alternative if the system requires a Korean number; do not register with somebody else's number. Keep a backup restaurant that does not depend on an advance booking.

  • 한국 전화번호가 없는데 대기 등록할 수 있나요? — Can I join the queue without a Korean phone number?
  • 혼자 식사할 수 있나요? 최소 주문은 몇 인분인가요? — Can I dine alone, and what is the minimum order?
  • 캐리어를 몇 시까지 맡길 수 있나요? 요금이 있나요? — Until what time can you keep my suitcase, and is there a fee?

Queen of Tears and seasonal photographs

A Seoul city article published in November 2024 identifies The Hyundai Seoul as a setting for the drama's Queens department store and discusses an indoor-garden scene. That connection does not establish a permanent filming set or an artificial-snow attraction you can visit now. Seoul city source

This guide does not confirm the 2026 Christmas event dates, booking release or entry rules. Check this year's official announcement instead of following an old reservation article. Our lead photograph is also an archive image from 2022, not a view of the current event layout.

Connect to the river without overloading the day

Collect your luggage before heading toward Yeouinaru Station and the park. Seoul's park directions identify Yeouinaru Exits 2 and 3 for the central park area; distinguish these from Exit 1 in the department store's arrival directions. Our 30-minute transfer allowance includes time to leave the building and cross roads; it is an editorial buffer, not an official walking duration. Official park directions

Spend around 45 minutes by the river if you have time, or return to the subway. In rain, strong wind or with heavy bags, replace the park with an indoor rest. Check current outdoor conditions and your route before leaving. See the Yeouido Hangang Park guide and Seoul neighbourhood guides before adding another stop.

Check before you pay

Questions for planning this visit, not allegations against any business.

  • Separate popup entry, product purchase and restaurant waitlists. Ask the organizer whether a Korean number or identity verification is required; plan without someone else’s account or unofficial guaranteed-entry offers.
  • Before food is prepared, confirm whether the price is per plate, person or weight, minimum orders and extras. Match the menu to the order and confirm your party’s total. Keep an itemized receipt.

Quick answers

Which station works best in rain?

The operator describes an underground connection of about 500 m from near Yeouido Station Exit 3 to B2. Platform access and lift routes require a separate check.

Where can I leave a suitcase?

Ask the 1F Tourist Desk about suitcase storage. General lockers are on B1, B3 and B4. Fees, size limits, space and collection deadlines must be checked locally.

What is a food-and-coffee budget example?

Hao Sum noodles at ₩11,900 plus a Camel Coffee Americano at ₩5,500 total ₩17,400 for one of each. Transport, purchases and extra orders are excluded.

Are the 2026 Christmas reservation dates confirmed?

Not in this guide. Use the operator’s current-year announcement rather than an older event’s reservation instructions.

Can I fit the river into 90 minutes?

Our 90-minute plan stays inside. The meal-and-river plan allocates about four hours, with extra time or fewer stops needed when queues are long.
