This is a festival spread across several venues, rather than one show at one entrance. Central Line 1942 Andong Station, Talchum Park, downtown Andong and Hahoe Village host different programs. Choose a performance and its venue first, then fit meals and walking around it. The suggested itineraries below are editorial planning advice based on official information, not a firsthand visit report.

The overview labels the opening at 18:00, while the detailed programme separates an 18:00 parade from the 19:00 main ceremony. This table follows the detailed programme with its separate venues. Select your date in the official schedule and check the venue as well as the time.

Free areas and paid performance tickets

Free access to general festival areas does not include the paid maskdance theater. These are the organizer's published performance-ticket prices, not an all-inclusive pass for activities, food, transport or Hahoe Village admission.

Exchange an advance ticket at a designated booth for the relevant performance admission. One ticket covers one viewing; everyone leaves after the show. Do not budget as though it were an all-day reentry pass.

The KRW 2,000 Talchum Love Coupon issued on exchange is a coupon, not a guaranteed cash refund. Budget the purchase price first and check where and how the coupon can be used.

The Korean notice lists preschool children aged 6 or younger, basic livelihood recipients, people with disabilities and national merit beneficiaries for free admission. Ask which documents are accepted and who qualifies for student tickets. Do not assume companions are also free.

1. Choose the date, performance and venue in the official schedule.
2. Use the booking link or sales locations listed on the organizer's ticket page. Check how advance tickets are exchanged and the admission conditions for your chosen show.
3. Keep the purchase confirmation and leave time for exchange and queues. Confirm availability in the actual sales system or with the organizer.

The linked online product led to a NAVER login page during our check. Foreign-card acceptance, overseas phone support and remaining availability were not verified. If online purchase is difficult, use the official information on in-person purchase and contact the organizer. On-site sales do not guarantee admission to a specific performance.

Getting from the current Andong Station to the festival

The current railway station is in Songhyeon-dong at 122-16 Gyeongdong-ro, beside Andong Bus Terminal. Distinguish it from the festival venue named Central Line 1942 Andong Station (중앙선1942 안동역). Arrival by train is not arrival at the festival entrance. Check your travel date with KORAIL for trains from Seoul, fares and availability, then plan the local transfer separately.

The shuttle is announced for September 24–October 4, with separate weekday, holiday and Julbulnori tables. Some times in the tables differ from the general hourly-service wording. We therefore do not give a fixed last departure, especially for evening returns. Ask +82-54-840-3424 with your date, boarding point and destination before connecting to a train. Drivers should check official parking guidance and local restrictions; avoid scheduling a meeting on the assumption that parking will be beside the stage.

Build a day trip around one downtown performance

For a first day trip, make one downtown performance the anchor. This suggested 4–6-hour allocation covers time in town, not the round trip from Seoul or the duration of an official tour package.

1. Before departure: choose a return train or bus, then select a performance that fits. A festival closing time of 22:00 is not a suitable target arrival time at your departure station.
2. On arrival: locate the selected venue's ticket/exchange booth. Put a meal and downtown walk into the gaps around the performance.
3. At the festival: see your chosen show at Talchum Park or Central Line 1942. For consecutive shows at different stages, allow for the first show's finish, transfer and the next admission queue.
4. Before leaving: add a nearby program only if your return transport and remaining time allow it. Avoid squeezing in Hahoe Village at the expense of a workable journey home.

One general-admission performance costs KRW 6,000 in advance or KRW 8,000 on site. For two viewings, check each ticket and exchange condition. Visitors concentrating on free festival areas need not add a paid show. Families should establish student and free-admission eligibility before totaling the cost.

Plan around the Chuseok holiday and transport

Adding Hahoe Village and Seonyu Julbulnori

Seonyu Julbulnori at Hahoe Village is announced for September 26, October 3 and October 4, 2026, from 19:00 around Mansongjeong. It is not a nightly show at the downtown festival site.

For those three dates, the official shuttle page identifies the Hahoe-side stop as Andong Gango-deungeo Sutbul Garden Main Branch (안동간고등어숯불가든 본점). Do not rely only on a saved Hahoe ticket-office pin; check the day's stop and the onward connection to the viewing area.

The Julbulnori return table contains a mismatch between its route heading and row label. We have not published an unverified last bus or promised a seat. If staying for the evening, confirm the return with the organizer or consider an overnight stay in Andong. The overnight suggestion does not imply an extended shuttle service.

For a less compressed visit, split downtown performances and Hahoe Village across two days. Check the village's own admission, operating hours and any separate Julbulnori viewing conditions; the festival performance ticket does not establish those terms.

Booking, rain and access checks

If rain is forecast, check official notices and your selected performance before departing. A roof in an archive photograph does not establish that every program operates in rain, or that refunds are automatic.

Wheelchair and stroller users should ask about each venue's entrance route, viewing position, toilets and shuttle boarding. We cannot promise an unverified step-free route or reserved accessible seating. Families can reduce the number of transfers and allow breaks.
