Jeongdong Culture Night 2026 runs on Friday October 30, 18:00–22:00, and Saturday October 31, 14:00–22:00. Advance applications closed on October 16 at 18:00, and selection notices were published on October 19. Applicants should check the programme, date, time and party size against the official notice and individual contact. Without an application, plan around street walks and venues with separate admission.

The official festival schedule covers the district-wide event. A venue timetable or a tour meeting instruction remains a separate requirement. Do not plan as if one general festival reservation admits you to every activity.

Applications closed, results published: selected tours or an independent walk

The application notice gave October 7 at 09:00 through October 16 at 18:00; that period has ended. Selection notices were published online on October 19, with individual contact to follow. The terms included 30% priority for Jung-gu residents and one companion, so submission alone did not confirm participation. Applicants should check the program, date, session and party size against their result. Without an application, leave embassy tours out of a confirmed itinerary and use the walking routes and venue-specific entry conditions below. 2026-10-19 · Official results

Selection notices for the UK and Canada embassy tours were published on October 19; the organizer says selected applicants will be contacted individually. Both the applicant and companion must bring identification and complete attendance check-in outside the relevant embassy at least 10 minutes before the programme starts. Confirm which identification documents and nationality conditions apply to international visitors. The Canada notice gives no date, so the conflicting Friday/Saturday listings remain unresolved. Wait for individual confirmation before fixing other bookings around that tour. Canada · 2026-10-19 / UK · 2026-10-19

English and Japanese tours: Friday 19:00 or Saturday 16:00

The official guided-walk page lists each language at 19:00 Friday and 16:00 Saturday, approximately 60 minutes, with 10–15 people per departure. Advance applications have closed, but the official page also describes on-site registration at the guide headquarters in Paichai Children's Park (배재어린이공원). On-site registration does not guarantee an available place.

The route connects Paichai Hakdang History Museum, Seoul Museum of Art, Chungdong First Methodist Church, Ewha Museum and Jungmyeongjeon. This does not establish access to every interior or separately booked activity. Specify your language and confirm the final meeting point. The half-hourly general departures should not be read as half-hourly English or Japanese tours.

Deoksugung has separate admission and an earlier cutoff

The festival venue table lists palace closing at 21:00 and last admission at 20:00. The palace operator's standard individual rate is ₩1,000 for international visitors aged 19–64 and Korean visitors aged 25–64. Age-based exemptions differ by nationality: do not apply the festival's shorthand “under 25 free” to all visitors. Check the operator's exemption and proof requirements.

Jungmyeongjeon is listed until 22:00, last entry 21:30. Plan palace admission earlier rather than assuming the whole neighborhood shares one closing time. Palace entry does not automatically include Seokjojeon's indoor guided visit or museum admission. See our Deoksugung guide for ordinary visits.

Vehicle restrictions start October 30 morning: taxis and hotel access

The official October 22 notice sets vehicle restrictions from October 30 at 07:00 through October 31 at 24:00. The entire one-way Daehanmun→rotary fountain section closes, as does the direction from the rotary fountain toward Yewon School. No stopping or parking is allowed on Jeongdong-gil or Deoksugung-gil during the restrictions, and no event parking is provided. Prefer a walk from City Hall Station; agree a taxi pickup or drop-off outside the restricted section with your driver. If staying nearby, ask your accommodation about vehicle access and luggage drop-off in advance.

Start at City Hall: two suggested plans

Use City Hall Station on Lines 1 and 2, with Deoksugung's Daehanmun gate as your first landmark. Save Exit 2, but check station lift access separately if needed. These map links search Korean place names: select the actual entrance or meeting point before starting navigation.

Editorial planSequence
Friday, about 2 hoursEat first → arrive during the 18:00 hour → stone-wall walk → confirmed 19:00 tour or one open venue → return
Saturday afternoon into eveningArrive after 14:00 → confirmed activity or palace → 16:00 language tour → meal and evening walk

These are suggested visit lengths, not measured walking times or guaranteed admissions. Build around any confirmed session and reduce other stops. On your arrival day in Korea, account for immigration, hotel travel and dropping off luggage before choosing a departure.

Allow for rain, dinner and the trip home

Even an indoor itinerary has outdoor transfers and queues. In heavy rain, shorten the walk and follow official changes or cancellations. Eat before the tour or leave a proper meal break afterward. We have not verified a complete event food price list or overseas-card acceptance; budget separately for admission, food and transport.

A 22:00 event finish is not a guarantee of a train to your accommodation. Save the return route on the day and keep busy entrances clear when photographing. Bring the identity documents specified in your confirmed program instructions.

Dining discounts: bring the leaflet before 21:00

The October 20 notice lists 20 participating restaurants and cafés. Present the 2026 event leaflet: October 30, 18:00–21:00; October 31, 14:00–21:00. Eligible dishes and discounts differ by venue; supplies may run out early. Check before ordering. Participating venues and conditions

Questions for planning this visit, not allegations against any business.

  • Match the seller, venue address, date, party size, cancellation deadline and time zone on the confirmation. Save change/cancellation refund conditions and who handles them; an application receipt is not a confirmed booking.
  • If staying overnight, save the total including taxes and extra guests, latest check-in, no-show rules and cancellation deadline. If delayed, send your arrival time and obtain written confirmation that the room will be held. Sending a message is not acceptance.
